FAQs: A little clarity
before we connect

Starting something new can bring questions. Here are a few answers to help you feel at home with Coastal Behavior Care.

What services does Coastal Behavior Care offer?

I offer individualized behavioral assessments, early intervention, and caregiver consultation and education. My focus is on practical skills and meaningful strategies that support your child and fit into your family’s everyday life.

Does my child need an autism diagnosis to receive services?

An autism diagnosis is not required to receive services at Coastal Behavior Care; however, any services for a child without a diagnosis will be private pay. I support children and families with a variety of needs, including communication, play, everyday routines, and challenging behaviors. We’ll start with a conversation about your child’s strengths and your family’s goals to determine whether my services are a good fit.

Who will work with my family?

You’ll work directly with me. I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and the founder of Coastal Behavior Care. My journey from behavior technician to case supervisor to clinic director has shaped my collaborative, compassionate approach to supporting children and families.

What does early intervention look like?

Early intervention uses play, everyday routines, and your child’s interests to create meaningful learning opportunities. Goals may include communication, independence, participation in daily activities, and skills to help your child navigate difficult moments.

Can I receive caregiver support without direct therapy for my child?

Yes! Caregiver consultation can be a standalone service. Together, we can explore specific concerns, understand what may be contributing to difficulties, and develop practical strategies you feel comfortable using in everyday life.

What happens during an assessment?

An assessment helps me get to know your child’s strengths, needs, and your family’s priorities. It may include caregiver interviews, observation, review of relevant records, and may include specific assessments such as the Vineland-3 and the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP). The findings guide individualized recommendations and meaningful goals.

Where are services provided?

Coastal Behavior Care serves families throughout the South Bay. Location options depend on the service and your family’s needs. I am available for both in-person visits and remote consultation.

Do you accept insurance or other funding?

Private-pay services are available. Insurance and other funding options may be considered on an individual basis. Please reach out to discuss your family’s needs and potential payment options.

Superbills may be provided for families seeking out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage and reimbursement depend on your health plan and are not guaranteed.

How often will we meet?

Frequency depends on your child’s needs, the support you’re seeking, and any applicable funding requirements. We’ll discuss recommendations together and develop an individualized plan with clear, meaningful goals.

How do I get started?

Start with a free introductory call! This is an opportunity to share your family’s needs, ask questions, and learn more about my approach. If Coastal Behavior Care feels like a good fit, we’ll discuss next steps together. Reach out through the contact form to schedule your call.
